CHALLENGE MATCH AND TEAM POSITION

A team winning a cup shall take the position of the team in last place in the next higher cup, and that last place team will drop into first position in the cup below, except that the team in last position in Cup VII will be challenged by the wait list team.  The Challenge Match will be played on as neutral a course as possible.  The line-up  for the team in Cup VII must be a legitimate line-up for that team.  The line-up for the team on the wait list must be submitted to the opposing team captain and the host club professional the week before the Challenge Match.  Any rulings to be requested must be noted timely during play, and the Overall Rules Chair or President of the Association called immediately after play.   If the Challenge Match is tied the Cup VII team will remain in that Cup.  There is no rain date for the Challenge Match, and if it is rained out the teams will remain in the same positions with the wait list team to remain in first position on the wait list.
